Nordic Council President condemns Paris attack

“I condemn this horrific attack in Paris, which is a violation of freedom of speech and democratic values. These values are of the greatest importance in the Nordic countries and are the foundations of our open welfare societies.”
“The attack in Paris also acts as a reminder that we must oppose extremism and prejudice at every opportunity. We need to be careful not to make value judgements about religions or social groups and continue our fight for peace and justice.”

(Statement by the President of the Nordic Council, Höskuldur Þórhallsson)
