The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2013 is to be awarded to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for its extensive efforts to eliminate chemical weapons. Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation

The EU estimates 500,000 girls and women living in Europe are suffering with the lifelong consequences of female genital mutilation. And an estimated 180,000 girls in Europe are at risk of female genital mutilation each year. Yesterday the EU Commision have published a strategy paper with a new push to fight female genital mutilation (FGM) in the EU and beyond. Read more here
